5-stand Sporting
You don't have to put your shotgun away in the wintertime!! We have a heated 5-Stand building and trailer that you can shoot from. For those unfamiliar with 5 Stand, you have 5 windows to shoot from. For a 50-bird round, you shoot 10 targets at each window, three "Report Pairs" followed by two "True Pairs". On the "Report Pairs," the second bird will be launched after the shooter fires at the first target; on "True Pairs" both birds launch at the same time. After each shooter attempts their 10 birds on the menu at that particular window, each shooter proceeds to rotate to the next window, where each shooter finds a new menu of 10 targets.
We have several menu's that your squad can choose from including: All True Pairs, a 25-bird menu, and a triple bird for you that shoot autos!.
The 3-bird menu that allows shooters to attempt 3 birds in the air at a time. Pump or Semi-Auto required for your entire group to shoot this menu.
Cost for 50 Bird Rounds:
$20 per 50 bird round for members
$25 per 50 bird round for non-members
Reservations are not needed; however squadding is on a first come first serve basis. Signup at the bar and purchase a target card for the trapper. You may pre-purchase rounds on the TargetKiosk.
Volunteering and help running the 5-stand
We run the winter 5-stand with our dedicated Board Members and volunteers. As a member of Waunakee Gun Club, we need your support and help. Please consider helping out just one or two days throughout the winter in operation of the 5-stand. Without a Board Member and a volunteer - we will be unable to open and provide shooting opportunities for our members and guests. If we can get just one day (9AM to 4PM) of help from each member, we will have a smooth-running season.
